And now I know what security means to me
So here we are in that little america world. We sort of forgot how long the flight takes. And we didn't count on it taking two hours from getting off the plane to finally getting out of the airport. Flipping heck. They make you collect your luggage and then hand it in and take a train and pick it up again. The immigration guy was quite friendly for once though.
A journalist recently asked me whether we spiced up tales in our blogs. Cheeky bastard.
Ok here's one for you. Last night I dreamt I saw some badgers and told Bill Oddie about them.
new dress count: 1

Welcome back to the States. You will be happy to know there are no bitting insects this time of year. Looking forward to the show in Chapel Hill tonight. Cheers!

Hey, we saw you at Warsaw last night, and I just wanted to let you know how much you guys ruled. You cast so many spells so authoritatively, from quiet hypnotic moments to wailing walls of sound. The only thing I missed hearing was Country Mile! I should have asked for it but I was just enjoying everything else too much. And I didn't feel lost. Best of luck on the rest of the tour.
I must be one of the ones Tracyanne referred to from the stage at the Warsaw show in Brooklyn Wednesday night, when she said that you get people complaining on this blog. {the "woe is me, blah-blah entry) At the time I was under the impression that the Brooklyn show was sold out (that's what I was told when I called the venue). But I drove the 4+ hours down to the show anyway, hoping to find a ticket somehow. They still had 40 tickets, so I was glad to get in. It was the first time I'd seen y'all live and it was a mesmerizing show, thank you! I enjoyed seeing how the band warmed up to the audience and vice versa. It was like watching (and being part of) a crowd of strangers who are familiar with the music, but had never seen the musicians, as we(all) got used to the idea. For you, the band, it must be a process of becoming more comfortable with touring at each gig, as you become more at ease with these appreciative and awe-struck audiences. I, too would have enjoyed hearing "Country Mile", or "Phil & Don" or the old Paris Sisters song (laterre-done by Beth Orton), "I Love How You Love Me" – but I'm way too shy to shout out a request; and I was just so glad to be able to be there. The entire audience that night seemed to really feel that way, too. I hope you liked the mix CDs that I gave to Carey for all of you. For all those long boring hours on the road between shows, and after youy've tired of listening to everything else.
